Document collection

Before you come to the visa application centre, we recommend that you check that your documents are ready for collection,  by either using our online tracking facility on this website or by calling our contact centre, You can also sign up for our SMS messaging service and receive a text on your mobile phone as soon as your passport is ready to be collected at the visa application centre. Please see the Additional services page on this website for more information.

Cancellation of visa application and passport withdrawal

If you wish to cancel your visa application you must provide a brief written explanation of the reasons for withdrawal. Request forms are available at the visa application centre and it may take up to 2 days to process your request. Your visa application fee is refundable only if a payment has been made and your application is not submitted or if you have not provided your biometrics information.

Security information:

All applicants and their belongings entering the visa application centre will be subject to a security search. Separate facilities will be made available for ladies.

For security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the visa application centre or stored on the premises:

All battery operated or electronic items such as cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3s, floppies, laptops, or portable music players.
All bags such as travel bags, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, leather, jute or cloth bags and zip folders. Only a plastic bag containing your application and related papers will be permitted.
Sealed envelopes or packages.
Any inflammable item such as matchboxes/ lighters/ fuel.
Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
Weapons or weapon - like objects or explosive material of any kind.
Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act prevents the UK Border Agency and VFS from providing information about visa applications to anybody other than the individual visa applicant or their authorised representative
